Emily holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#25071). She has experience supporting youth and adults in navigating difficult emotions, addressing the impact of trauma, exploring identity, and working through relational challenges. Emily aims to walk alongside her clients to foster a deeper sense of meaning and personal agency as they work toward their goals.
She believes that each individual possesses an innate capacity for growth and change. Within a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship, Emily supports her clients in uncovering and utilizing their inner strengths to overcome challenges and create meaningful change. She also brings humour, creativity, and artistic expression into her work to create a comfortable environment and help clients express their inner experiences.
Emily practices from a trauma-informed and attachment based lens, with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and an understanding of how past experiences shape present-day patterns. She draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches, adapting her work to meet each client’s individual needs.
