Online Therapy

Professional, trauma-informed counselling—wherever you are

Online therapy offers the same depth, care, and clinical expertise as in-person counselling, with the added benefit of flexibility and accessibility. At Treehouse Trauma Centre, online therapy is a deliberate service choice—not a substitute—designed to reduce barriers and help clients access consistent, high-quality care.

Our online therapists are experienced in building strong therapeutic relationships through secure video sessions and tailor their approach to ensure therapy remains relational, grounded, and effective.

Why choose online therapy?

Many clients choose online therapy because it fits more naturally into their lives. Online sessions remove the need for commuting, parking, or rearranging childcare, making it easier to attend therapy consistently—even during busy or demanding seasons.

Online therapy can be especially helpful if you:

  • Have a demanding work schedule or limited flexibility

  • Are parenting young children or caregiving for others

  • Experience chronic pain, illness, or fatigue

  • Live outside the Lower Mainland

  • Feel more emotionally safe engaging from your own space

For some clients, being at home allows for deeper focus, emotional regulation, and follow-through between sessions.

What we can help with

Online therapy at Treehouse Trauma Centre supports individuals with:

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Depression and mood concerns

  • Emotional regulation and overwhelm

  • Stress, burnout, and life transitions

If you’re unsure whether online therapy is the right fit for your concerns, our intake team is happy to help you explore your options.

What you’ll need

To attend online therapy, you’ll need:

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A device with a camera and microphone

  • A private, comfortable space

We provide clear instructions before your first appointment and are available to help if technical issues arise.

Is online therapy effective?

Yes. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related difficulties. What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, consistency of sessions, and the therapist’s skill—rather than physical location.

Our therapists intentionally adapt their clinical work for online delivery, ensuring sessions remain structured, responsive, and attuned to each client’s needs.

Privacy, security, and confidentiality

Your privacy matters. Online therapy sessions are delivered through a secure, privacy-compliant video platform that meets Canadian confidentiality standards. Sessions follow the same professional, ethical, and legal guidelines as in-person counselling.

We also support clients in creating a private and comfortable setup at home to ensure confidentiality throughout sessions.

Access therapy across British Columbia and beyond

Because sessions are offered online, we are able to support clients throughout British Columbia and some places beyond — not just those located near our physical offices. This allows clients in smaller communities or rural areas to access specialized, trauma-informed care without the need to travel.

Getting started

If you’re interested in online therapy, our intake team will help match you with a therapist who fits your goals, availability, and preferences. Many clients appreciate that online therapy can offer faster access to care and greater scheduling flexibility.
