Child & Trauma Therapist

RCC #24388

Specializing in therapy for children, youth, adults and families

Chad is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#24388). He offers counselling to children, adolescents, teens, adults, and families. He views therapy as a collaborative experience between therapist and client, one where there  can be meaningful and honest conversations. He focuses on emotional processing, interpersonal dynamics, and internal identity.

He offers trauma informed specialized child centered play therapy (CCPT) and believes in the healing power of creative play that taps into the innate wisdom and resilience of children. He works to help children and families to feel confident when encountering challenges, connected to each other, and able to turn to each other for care and support, through new and reprative experiences. When working with children, he allows the child to take the lead, while creating a non-judgmental, safe, and authentic space to allow for agency, autonomy, and expression.

He believes people of all ages are innately growth-oriented, and that by giving space and helping to remove barriers, they will reach their potential. He joins forces with parents to help create the family dynamics they want in the home through healthy relational interactions. He supports parents to trust themselves as they do the hard work of raising children.

Chad holds a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy. He believes change happens in relationships and that past relational experiences help to inform the present. He collaborates with clients to help create the person they want to be here and now through attachment-based modalities, augmented by the client/therapist relationship. When caring for individuals andfamilies, he utilizes his training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Neuroscience and Satir in the Sandtray (NSST – Level One Certified), Satir Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).
