Specializing in therapy for youth and adults
Gillian is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#22672) and holds a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. Her journey in counselling has been shaped by a diverse range of experiences, particularly in assisting individuals navigating addiction, anxiety, trauma, shame, and burnout, as well as years of experience offering support to Survivors of human trafficking, violence and abuse.
Gillian strongly believes in the inherent human capacity for change. When life's challenges leave individuals feeling stuck, Gillian is guided by the conviction that healing happens through deeper connections with others and expanding the inner dialogue with our authentic self. She approaches all of her work with compassion and curiosity and aims to support clients in doing the same.
Beyond the counselling room, you'll find Gillian mountain biking, crocheting, embracing cold ocean dips, walking her dog Oli, and immersing herself in a captivating book (sci-fi and fantasy are her favourites!).
Gillian’s approach to counselling is relational, experiential, attachment-based and trauma-informed. Gillian specifically draws upon Emotionally Focused Therapy and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy in her practice, guiding her as she helps individuals explore and navigate their emotions and experiences. Gillian is also dedicated to tailoring her approach to each client, using theoretical models as a guide while also seeing clients beyond the model—recognizing the uniqueness of each person with a distinctive set of experiences and goals.
