Dane James
BA, MA in progress
Therapist Intern (through December 2024)
Dane is currently completing his Masters in Counselling Psychology at Trinity Western University. He has experience working with children, teens, and adults with various presenting concerns including trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, and relationship issues.
Dane believes that each person is doing their best to respond to pressures from the past, present, and future, that currently weigh on them within life. He acknowledges that sometimes the ways individuals cope may need to shift throughout life and that through a process of reflection, connection, and understanding, clients can move into a space where they feel more empowered and able to respond to the opportunities around them. Through offering a safe space to process and learn, open to the breadth of experience which can be carried into the room, he hopes to walk with clients as they find relief from suffering and meaning within living.
Dane uses an integrative approach to therapy drawing heavily from the work of Existential-Analysis, Satir, and Internal Family Systems. He offers a client-centred, supportive approach to meet the client where they are at in their unique journey of life. Dane has received additional training for basic Neuroscience and the Satir in the Sand Tray (NSST) therapy. Through the combination of these models, he hopes to offer clients a space to find parts of their authentic self they can rely upon in their time beyond therapy.
